Why the contribution is important

Leah Bassel, (formerly University of Leicester, now at Roehampton University) and Akwugo Emejulu published an insightful book Minority Women and Austerity: Survival and Resistance in France and Britain, Bristol University Press (2017) would bring helpful insights to our  Anti-Poverty work in Leicester. With detailed case studies, the authors dispel myths of minority women as passive victims, and instead present minority women's activism as a 'politics of survival' and social change.
